This high-spirited, indignant book simmers with disbelief at the preposterousness of a society so enslaved by the NRA, and so enthralled by the pro-gun lawlessness of wanna be cowboys and besotted hunters, that it is prepared to sacrifice any number of children and innocent bystanders to protect a tightly orchestrated, delusional fantacy.

So large is this gun fantacy (and so profitable) that upstanding people, with a clearer vision and more connected to reality, who are brave enough to speak out against the Grand Delusion, are targeted, victimized and even slaughtered to protect the interests of the anti-gun control power brokers.

America is a society held hostage by a well-heeled lobby for a multi-billion dollar industry which, in turn, has ensnared a cowardly and violent constituency.  These volitile followers, from the uneducated to the too-expensively educated, are manipulated by simplistic hot-buttons and sound bites.  Without personal knowledge of the Constituion, they parrot deceitfully manipulative catch phrases they accept as Constitutional promises.  They believe they have the right to protect their "castles" from imagined dangers, and to use guns to settle old scores, percieved slights and enjoy their bullying ways.

Poor 2nd Amendment!  It is also perceived as the bastian which protects treasonable acts such as advocating the overthrow of lawful government or the ambush of politicians in the name of personal freedom.  Unbelievable?  We wish it were.

Fear of authority and government, in an insidious defiance of logic, holds captive an army of followers fired up with the rhetoric of the free "individual", while in reality they are deliberately stripped of free thinking and independence by those who feed their fears.  They inhabit the paranoid world - a prison, really - of the dissatisfied, disenfanchaised and, all too often, mentally ill.

The gun lobby and the NRA have a serious agenda of power and profit, They run a serious program of mind-control for the management of cowardly, captive followers.  Fear makes gun-toters and arsonal builders easily led:  fear of the unknown, fear of strangers, fear of outsiders, fear of a lack of control.

Powerlessness, need and want can create a seething cauldron of hatred and resentment. And these are the people who want guns, assault weapons, arsenals. These people ride buses with you, go to movies with you, send their terrified, angry children out on the streets with you.

Does any sane, patriotic American really think this is a good thing?
